We believe in supporting not only our players but also their families and our dedicated coaches, building a strong, inclusive soccer community. Through passion, integrity, and a commitment to growth, we aim to inspire excellence and create lasting positive impacts.
Our Story
United FC Michigan was founded in 1997 by former professionals Andy Chapman and Ian Fairbrother, inspired by the local community football clubs of their youth in England. Their vision was to create a club rooted in community, where players feel a sense of belonging as they grow through the game.
From the start, United FC focused on developing the individual – physically, technically, tactically, and socially – to build not only great players but also quality young people. Each player and team is seen as a long-term project, with year-round development tailored to their needs. Our ultimate goal is to nurture character, create lifelong memories, and foster a sense of family through soccer.
Starting with just four teams, United FC grew rapidly to over 40 teams by 2010, attracting local talent thanks to its community roots and leadership by former professionals. The club has remained true to its identity as a community-first organization while maintaining strong ties to European football, offering players unique pathways to England and beyond.
As we approach 30 years, United FC Michigan is excited to begin a new chapter, continuing to provide one of the most positive environments for young men and women to grow and excel in Michigan.
