The Soccer Aid Scholarship Fund was created in 2022 to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent young athletes from joining the game they love. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have raised over $37,000 and provided assistance to 18 players, making soccer more accessible for all.
Beyond the field, United FC, Sporting Michigan, and Sporting United FC are committed to shaping young athletes into well-rounded individuals—building character, fostering relationships, and creating lifelong memories through the game. But just as we invest in our players, we also believe in giving back to our community. Our teams have volunteered at Forgotten Harvest to fight food insecurity, organized a used sports gear drive with Leveling the Playing Field, and made blankets for children in need through Fleece & Thank You.
Together, we are not just playing the game—we are making a difference.

  • What is Soccer Aid?

Soccer Aid is a 501-3c non-profit scholarship program created by Sporting United FC, United FC, and Sporting Michigan FC.

  • Why was Soccer Aid created?

Every year the clubs associated with Soccer Aid subsidize players who cannot afford their clubs dues. Unfortunatley, at times the clubs cannot accommodate all the requests they receive, and players are not able to participate. We believe soccer should be available to everyone and Soccer Aid has been set up to help raise funds for players in this situation.

  • Who oversees the soccer aid scholarship funds?

Soccer Aid has a board of directors, made up of volunteers both from inside (current parents) and outside the club. None of the board memebers work for or own the soccer clubs involved in the scholarship fund.

  • Who benefits from Soccer Aid?

Players who do not have the funds to play at United FC, Sporting Michigan FC, and Sporting United FC.

  • When and where are the Soccer Aid events?

Golf Outing- May 9th, 2025- Fieldstone Golf Club, Auburn Hills

  • How does the committee decide who receives a scholarship?

Players who cannot afford their clubs dues can apply for a scholarship. Based on this application, the scholarship committee, will determine if players are eligible to receive any funds and how much.
